A Hells Angel outlaw motorcycle gang 'nominee' is facing charges over a pistol seized last month by Sydney police.
Police say that on June 30, Strike Force Raptor officers were patrolling George Street, Eastlakes, when they noticed a suspicious vehicle stopped in the street.
'Officers stopped and spoke with the two male occupants of the vehicle - aged 25 and 27 - and a third man - aged 38 - who was standing nearby,' police said.
'Following a search of the vehicle, officers located and seized a loaded Remington pistol.
'The men were arrested taken to Mascot Police Station, but were later released pending further inquiries.
They say that officers arrested a 27 year old man at Chullora in relation to the matter.
' He has been taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place, possess loaded firearm in public place, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess unauthorised firearm, possess firearm or barrel with altered/defaced ID and participate criminal group - serious violence offence,' police said.
