Dealer pleads guilty to cocaine trafficking

Canada -

A man caught up in an RCMP investigation pleaded guilty this morning to cocaine trafficking.

Teagveer Singh Gill, 28, was one of 11 people rounded up by the RCMP at the end of January in an investigation known as Project Dilemma.

Gill was originally charged with two counts of cocaine trafficking and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime. Gill pleaded guilty to the single charge of cocaine trafficking and will be sentenced Nov. 15. Court was told the other charges would be formally stayed at his sentencing.

Five other individuals charged in Project Dilemma have already pleaded guilty and been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 5-9½ years.

The RCMP investigation originally targeted the Manitoba chapter of the Rock Machine but eventually led to several independent drug dealers, including Gill.

The investigation depended on a Rock Machine member, who acted as a confidential agent for the RCMP. All active members of the Rock Machine were taken into custody, including president Joseph Strachan, who was recently given a nine-year prison sentence.
